Roto Window and Door Technology (FTT)maintains a “clear system architecture” for door hinges too. By doing so, thecompany aims to cater to all of the various requirements of the individualmarket segments.

One example of this is the “Roto Solid B” butt hingerange that was designed for the largest segment. It has now been made even moreeffective with the addition of aluminium clamp hinges. This can be seen when itcomes to installation and adjustment, product safety and stability, burglaryinhibition and design.

The “Roto Solid B” butt hinges have aluminium clamp hinges and impress with their high load-bearing capacity, among other features, according to the producer.

According to the producer, two versions 155mm and 223 mm long with a hinge diameter of 24 mm are available in theform of types “224 A” (two-part) and “324 A” (three-part). The principle ofintegrating all adjustment mechanisms in the roller has a positive impact, forexample on installation and adjustment. Integrated, continuous height andlateral adjustment is possible when closed. There is no need to unhinge thedoor either. The preassembled clamping block that is adapted to the clamping groovesensures simple and fast installation. This does away with the need for profilemachining. It is not necessary to undo the fixing or clamping screws in thebaseplate to adjust the hinges.

The internal adjustment mechanism alsooffers visual advantages. It prevents both gap formation and axis offset.Regardless of the setting, the appearance is always the same, maintaining thesleek look of the butt hinge. The “Solid B” duo seamlessly blends into theoverall design. It offers a wide range of powder-coated or anodised colours fordesign-oriented doors.

Roto firstly highlights the highload-bearing capacity in the important category of product safety andstability. While the two-part version is suitable for leaf weights up to100 kg, the load-bearing capacity of the three-part variant increases to amaximum of 120 kg. In both cases, this necessitates a connection with twohinges. High-quality materials such as extruded aluminium and galvanised steelalso ensure perfect product quality and corrosion protection in accordance withDIN EN 1670: class 5. The 200,000 opening cycles achieved in accordance withDIN EN 1935 confirm the reliable continuous operation of the current generationof butt hinges.

Finally, it also impresses with its burglaryinhibition. Roto reports that RC 2 or RC 3 solutions are possibledepending on the version and design. The window and door technology specialistultimately sees this as “concrete proof of quality”.
