WDMA Criticizes Latest Tariffs on Chinese Products

WDMA is strongly criticizing the Trump Administration’s decision to impose tariffs, 10% for the remainder of 2018 and increasing to 25% in 2019, on a list of products from China.

WDMA is concerned the new tariffs will do more harm to the U.S. economy than good.

WDMA President and CEO Michael O’Brien:

WDMA is very disappointed with the Trump Administration’s decision to impose a tariff on the list of products from China.Window, door and skylight manufacturers utilize many of the products on the list in the manufacturing process. These additional tariffs will likely lead to price increases for the residential and commercial construction markets and continue the threat of a trade war with China. WDMA urges the Trump Administration to reconsider this action.
