With the new AF 210, Schüco has created a new class of CNC machine: this new development makes digital fabrication economically attractive even for small metal fabricators. The AF 210 offers the most important features of a CNC machine, such as 3-sided machining, end-of-profile machining and automatic control via SchüCal.
Efficiency cannot be a question of the size of a company. In future, smaller metal fabricators should also benefit from the economic advantages in speed, accuracy and quality offered by CNC processing. It is ultimately efficiency and costs that determine commercial success, regardless of the size of the company. It was with this in mind that Schüco developed the AF 210, which offers the user the most important features of a CNC machine in metal fabrication that were previously only available to industry giants. Focusing on the essentials makes possible a price point which makes the investment financially attractive even to smaller fabricators.
Focusing on the essentials
With automatic control via SchüCal and 3-sided machining, including end-of-profile machining, the AF 210 offers the most important features of a CNC machine in metal fabrication. However, it can also be controlled without SchüCal via simple, menu-based manual programming, which can be operated without NC or CNC experience. Control via LogiKal is also an option. A clear, ergonomic operating panel with an 18.5-inch colour display makes operation easy and comfortable at all times. The processing data for the AF 210 can be generated directly in SchüCal and then transferred by USB or via a network.
The SchüCam control software pre-installed on the machine can also be run on an office PC to appropriately check the processing before starting the machining, using clear 3D visualisation of the profiles, tools and processes. SchüCam uses optimisation algorithms to automatically calculate the most effective processing sequences.
The true potential
Maximum quality in minimum space: the space requirement of the new AF 210 is minimised by the complete enclosure of the machine, so that no extra clearances or photoelectric barriers are necessary. Standing in stark contrast is the processing cross-section, where extra large dimensions of up to 250 x 116 mm with a 126 mm tool length are possible. Door profiles up to 290 mm are standard, but oversize units are possible. The biggest advantage of the AF 210 is that it combines many small work steps and tools in just one system.
With the simple operation, precise machining, increased efficiency, and ergonomic working space of the AF 210, the new class of CNC machine from Schüco, even smaller metal fabricators can benefit from the opportunities of digitalisation.
