It’s Britain’s biggest infrastructure project, with the potential to transform the area’s economic prospects.
Heathrow’s Runway Three will cost £14bn over almost a decade, creating an estimated 77,000 local jobs – and acoustic glazing experts Newview Homes have just signed the deal that will see them play a critical part in carrying it out.
Already long-standing Heathrow collaborators, Newview have installed thousands of acoustic windows for nearby homeowners as part of the airport’s ongoing noise attenuation scheme. Now, that scheme will be massively expanded, with the Airport expected to spend £660m on noise attenuation over the next 15 years (equivalent to 10% of the total UK glazing market). It’s Newview that will deliver a large proportion of that work – a task that MD Michele Wietscher relishes.
