With a high degree of innovation, outstanding functionality and visual appeal, a total of five Schüco products impressed the competition's international panel of experts: the AWS 90 AC.SI acoustic window, the AB ZDS and Integralmaster sun shading systems, the level threshold for aluminium window and door systems and the Schüco SmartActive antimicrobial surface finish were all winners of the renowned Red Dot: Product Design Award 2021.
Schüco acoustic window
The Schüco AWS 90 AC.SI (Aluminium Window System, 90 mm basic depth, Acoustics, Super Insulated) acoustic window combines sound reduction and natural ventilation when tilted. In the sound reduction tilt position, incoming external air is fed through pre-fabricated ventilation cassettes in the top outer frame. In this way, the sound dissipates and noise pollution is markedly reduced. This allows sound reduction of 31 dB to be achieved as well as natural ventilation. The acoustic window is available in two versions: the turn/tilt window and the side-hung / side-hung window with two opening positions.
Level threshold for Schüco aluminium window and door systems
Barrier-free level thresholds for Schüco aluminium window and door systems offer every individual a high degree of comfort irrespective of their age or situation, thanks to access which is level with the ground. The threshold-free transition for windows and doors thereby meets the requirements of the DIN 18040 safety standard. The following aluminium window and window door constructions can be designed with level thresholds: Schüco AWS 70.HI, AWS 75.SI+ and AWS 90 SI+ (70, 75 and 90 mm basic depth) as well as the AD UP (Aluminium Door Universal Platform) aluminium door system.
Schüco sun shading systems
The Schüco AB ZDS (Aluminium Blind Zip Design Screen) and Schüco Integralmaster sun shading systems feature outstanding energy efficiency, comfort and design. Schüco AB ZDS is an external, textile roller blind system that is fully integrated in Schüco window and façade systems. It can be integrated in the Schüco AF UDC 80 unitised façade as well as the Schüco AWS 50, 75, 90, 90 BS.SI+ and 75 PD.SI aluminium window systems.
Schüco Integralmaster is a popular internal roller blind system that can be perfectly integrated into the glazing beads of Schüco aluminium window systems or in Schüco mullion/transom façades. Thanks to its special design, the system combines glare protection, sun shading and thermal insulation in a single product. It is available for the Schüco FWS 50 and FWS 60 façade systems and for the Schüco AWS window systems in the 70, 75 and 90 mm basic depths.
Schüco SmartActive surfaces
SmartActive, the antimicrobial surface coating for Schüco window, door and sliding door handles as well as profile surfaces, reduces the transfer of germs like bacteria, viruses, fungi and yeasts. This is particularly important as a measure to aid disinfection in public buildings with a large number of people. The purely metallic microsilver used (Micro Silver BGTM) is free of nano particles and cannot penetrate human skin.
