Unico XS, modern steel doors equipped with a thermal break, are suitable for energy-efficient construction. An intriguing option is a possibility of opening them outwards.
Eko-Okna S.A. is expanding its range with a new system of exterior steel doors, Unico XS. They use a stainless steel thermal break and double gaskets guided around their perimeter, made of EDPM two-component rubber. Such features allow their use in energy-efficient construction. Synthetic rubber was chosen for its durability guaranteeing performance over many years with minimal maintenance.
The newly-introduced steel door system is a warm and versatile solution – emphasises Michał Maciejewski, managing director of Eko-Okna's sales and purchasing department. – The steel thermal break reinforces the structure, making it possible to create doors up to 2.4 metres high, the welded hinges are vertically adjustable, and the maximum permissible glazing thickness is 42 mm, which makes it possible to use well-insulating glazing units. All safety and special glazing options, including decorative glazing, offered by Eko-Okna are, of course, also available. The design possibilities are abundant.
A distinguishing feature of Unico XS doors is that they can also open outwards. This increasingly popular solution may also be an advantage for energy-efficient and passive houses, as strong gusts of wind press the door leaf against the frame with extra force, thus improving its air-tightness.
The combination of excellent technical performance with elegant aesthetics, expansive glazing and powder coating in RAL colours ensures the system is suitable for new construction and modernising older buildings.
