The new SchücoSmartTouch door control system combines professional audio/video door communication with easy-to-use, secure access control.

The Schüco DCS SmartTouch, which won the 2020 German Design Award and the 2019 Red Dot Design Award, brings together a camera, doorbell and access control system in a single module with a stylish design. All of the components are commissioned and controlled via the new Schüco app. The integrated 4.3-inch touchscreen means DCS SmartTouch can be operated just like a smartphone.

Mobile accessibility, maximum convenience and optimum security – DCS SmartTouch offers the end customer a wide range of benefits to make their everyday lives easier. This is all configured and controlled via the new Schüco app, which is available free of charge for iOS and Android. The app allows you to create house numbers and PIN codes and manage contacts. External users can also be invited to use the app and open the door by themselves. The Schüco app is also great for use on the go – the door call can be received on your smartphone through the app, even when you are outside of the local area network, and you can then communicate with the person standing at your front door.

To this end, the new Schüco Cloud offers maximum stability and fast push notifications. With the surveillance function, any available internet connection can be used to access the camera and microphone when you are out and about, even if the doorbell has not been rung. Integrated infrared LEDs mean the full HD camera provides very high video quality even in poor light conditions. In addition to the app, DCS SmartTouch can also communicate exclusively with and be controlled using the SchücoSmartTouch intercom station via a LAN connection. The intelligent door communication system is therefore perfect for use in private homes and residential buildings with multiple, changing tenants.

Simple fabrication, fast commissioning

DCS SmartTouch has simplified many processes for the fabricator. The rectangular recess for the module and a separate installation box, which offers additional protection against moisture and swarf, enable rapid fabrication and installation. With the help of a test mode, all of the important functions can be tested directly in the workshop in order to avoid delays on the building site. In addition, the wireless capability of DCS SmartTouch means that cabling for the router is not required. Using step-by-step instructions, the commissioning process is designed so that it can be carried out by the end customers themselves.

Can be retrofitted

DCS SmartTouch is available for Schüco aluminium doors as an integrated version for the outer and vent frame. DCS SmartTouch can also be incorporated into the door communication system retrospectively. If a door has an existing doorbell system, regardless of the provider, the standard doorbell can be replaced with DCS SmartTouch as a surface or flush-mounted version. The existing two-wire technology is used to supply the power and communication is enabled via WiFi.

Added security

For maximum security requirements beyond the standard, Schüco DCS SmartTouch can also be supplemented by two optional modules – SchücoDoorProtect and SchücoNetProtect. SchücoDoorProtect is a component for increasing the security of the electric lock. The module is installed in the door profile without requiring an additional recess. If an open command is given, it checks in advance for authorisation via RS485 or Bluetooth LE 4.0. The signal is only forwarded to the lock if the result is positive. The SchücoNetProtect module comprises the functions of SchücoDoorProtect while also securing the home network. The module is installed on the inside of the profile or electrical enclosure, or in the intermediate floor. Using the LAN connection to SmartTouch, the module recognises an unauthorised access attempt and disconnects the system from the home network.

If you are interested in DCS SmartTouch, come and experience it up close at the Schüco stand (B51, hall 11.1) at “Light + Building”, the world's leading exhibition for light and building technology, on 8-13 March 2020.
